What are CEUs and why are they Important?

Continuing Education Units (CEUs) aim to make certificates and credentialing more accessible while offering a way to allow school nutrition professionals to earn them while working throughout the year. SNA offers CEUs by participating in its webinars, on-demand training courses, SNA Conferences, and other various offerings such as the School Nutrition Boot Camp and our new SNS Prep course. Many of these offerings are available in SNA’s Training Zone. You earn 1 CEU for each 1 hour of SNA educational content. We even offer CEUs in 0.25 quantities on occasion, allowing school nutrition professionals the maximum flexibility in planning their educational journey.

CEUs are an integral part of SNA’s certificate and credentialing programs. School Nutrition professionals need CEUs to obtain their level 1-4 certificates and the highest credential in School Nutrition – School Nutrition Specialist (SNS). An equally important benefit is the ability to use CEUs obtained from SNA towards your USDA Professional Standards requirements needed for the school year. Upon becoming a member of SNA, you have access to over 100 on-demand courses totaling well over 100 CEUs.

Thinking of attending an upcoming conference? You can earn CEUs at SNA’s four main conferences throughout the year (SNIC, LAC, NLC, and ANC). Each conference has its training tracker provided to attendees to track the sessions they attend and use for their SNA certificate and credentialing needs as well as USDA Professional Standards.
