The School Nutrition Foundation teamed up with industry partners to provide new kitchen equipment to five deserving districts in 2023.

Eligibility:

The applicant must be an active director-level member for a minimum of one year (January 1, 2023 – December 31, 2023) with the School Nutrition Association (SNA) and have a history of employment in school foodservice. If you need to confirm SNA membership, please call 1-800-877-8822.
There are NO eligibility requirements for a certain percentage of free/reduced eligible students.
The applicant must be responsible for directing the school nutrition program of the school district.
The applicant must represent the entire school district’s equipment needs.
Applications will be reviewed for need, plan to integrate new equipment and impact of new equipment on the school nutrition program.

The Winston Equipment Grant

NF and Winston have teamed up for more than a decade to help school nutrition professionals address equipment needs in order to better serve students. The Winston Foodservice Equipment Grant program will award equipment to one (1) school district in need of improving its school meal kitchen facilities through a competitive grant process. Equipment received from the Winston Foodservice award will consist of up to 10 pieces of equipment valued up to $100,000 from Winston Foodservice. Once awarded, the recipient will work with a Winston Foodservice representative to determine what best suits their school district’s needs.

The Vulcan Equipment Grant

ITW Food Equipment Group/Vulcan and Hobart Brands have teamed up to help SNF provide more equipment to SNA members. The recipient of the Vulcan Equipment Grant will be awarded up to $50,000 worth of Vulcan equipment. Once awarded, the recipient will work with an ITW/FEG representative to determine what best suits their school district’s needs.

The Hobart Equipment Grant

ITW Food Equipment Group/Vulcan and Hobart Brands have teamed up to help SNF provide more equipment to SNA members. The recipient of the Hobart Equipment Grant will be awarded up to $35,000 worth of Hobart equipment. Once awarded, the recipient will work with an ITW/FEG representative to determine what best suits their school district’s needs.

The Food Warming Equipment (FWE) Equipment Grant

The FWE Equipment Grant awards the winning school district with multiple pieces of equipment. The equipment includes an extensive line of mobile, stainless steel, and full insulated, heated holding cabinets, proofers, refrigerators, freezers, portable bars, and serving wells. The FWE family of divisions expands automation, robotics, and cutting-edge technology continuing FWE’s commitment and confidence in the resilient school foodservice industry. The winning school district will show that there is a plan for the placement of all pieces of equipment in the school district. The recipient of the Food Warming Equipment (FWE) Equipment Grant will be awarded up to $25,000 worth of FWE equipment. The Food Warming Equipment (FWE) Equipment Grant

Video Application Process

If you are selected as a finalist, you will be asked to create a 2-3-minute video. School Nutrition Foundation staff will send you directions for the video application process if you are chosen to move on to the next round of judging.
